The two explore the legacy of Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining" and its sequel "Doctor Sleep," directed by Mike Flanagan. How does the 1980 horror film compare to the 2019 flop? Scooby -Doo, where are you? Well, definitely not in theaters thanks to the coronavirus. This week, Rolando, Nicole & Eddie team up with Mike Jozic of A Podcast Named Scooby-Doo to form our very own Scooby gang in order the solve the greatest mystery: Why has Scooby lasted so long?
The gang deconstructs what made the series function so well since its inception in 1969 and how the franchise has evolved over the years to give us two (technically three) theatrical releases: 2002's Scooby-Doo starring Freddie Prinze, Jr, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Matthew Lillard, and Linda Cardinelli and 2020's Scoob! starring the Will Forte, Zac Efron, Amanda Seyfried, and Gina Rodriguez.

While we’re all self isolating due to COVID19, Nicole and Rolando revisit the sci-fi and dissect it’s meaning and impact through the lens of today’s pandemic.

The year was 1999. Children all over the US were missing out after staying up late to go to the opening night of "Pokémon: The First Movie" and missing out of school the next day, suffering from "pokéflu." If you were Rolando you were there. If you were Nicole - you didn't care. Now, 21 years later a CGI remake of the film, "Pokemon: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution," hit Netflix leaving both diehard and fair-weather fans to wonder, "Why?"
How does Pokemon's first film hold up? Is a CGI spectacle enough reason to remake a movie in 2020? What possible lessons can children or even filmmakers learn by watching "Pokemon?" Tune in and find out.
